On a day in early May the sun was playing an elusive game of hide and seek in the Scottish Borders, appearing round corners one minute and hiding behind a shroud of cloud the next.

The Megget reservoir supplies Edinburgh's drinking water, through 28 miles of pipes, and via Gladhouse and Glencorse reservoirs. A fantastic wee single track road winds it's way up from the side of St Mary's Loch along the side of the Megget and Talla reservoirs and down the other side of the hills to join the main Moffat to Edinburgh road. It's always worth taking the smallest road possible in Scotland, if you have the time.
